With most of the leaves off the trees, now is a good time to clean your gutters and downspouts.  If you have basement window wells, it would be a good idea to remove all the leaves and debris from these areas as well.

As our heating system gets under full steam, now is a good time to make sure you have a quality Carbon Monoxide (CO) detector.  At least one CO should be placed at each level of your home and especially near sleeping quarters.

Time to 'Green-Up' 

Use a digital, programmable thermostat with your heating and cooling system to automatically lower the temperature at night and when no one is home.
