To clean heel scuffs off floors, simply erase them with a white-vinyl eraser or white toothpaste.  To clean magic marker off a vinyl floor, spray it with hair spray, let it sit for a few seconds and scrub with a damp, soapy cloth.

A lawn that is longer (from 3 to 4 inches tall) grows slower, thereby requiring less mowing; chokes out weeds; requires less water (30% of water consumption in urban areas in the eastern United States is for watering lawns) and keeps bug infestations down.

Don't top off when filling your lawnmower. About 17 million gallons of fuel, mostly gasoline, are spilled each year while refueling lawn equipment.  The EPA has determined that gasoline-powered landscape equipment like mowers, trimmers, blowers, and chainsaws account for over 5% of our urban air pollution.
